Program — North Hills Christian Church

WELCOME! We’re glad you chose to join us today! Here at NHCC, we have a passion for making lifelong followers of Jesus. You can expect a friendly, casual atmosphere that invites you to explore and discover at your own pace. During the worship service, children’s programming is available for children from infants through students in 5th grade. Here are some components you may experience in your time here today:

Songs of Worship: This is a time where we proclaim together all that God is and all He has done. We invite you to sing along to the words on the screen as they are sung.

Communion: Followers of Jesus are invited to take the provided individual self-serve packets of bread and juice as a ceremonial reminder of God’s great sacrifice of His son, Jesus, on the cross for our sin. If you are unsure, feel free to simply use this time for quiet reflection. Please discard used cups in the trash as you leave.

Offering: This is our opportunity to give back to God financially from what He has given to us. Please place your gifts and Connect Cards in one of the offering boxes outside the sanctuary doors. You can also give via our mobile app, Tithe.ly.

Invitation: This is an opportunity to respond to God’s prompting by talking with a pastor or leader at the indicated time... to commit your life to Christ through baptism (the water is always warm!), to place membership with the church, for prayer… one way or another, if God is stirring in your heart this morning, don’t leave without responding in some way.

We live in a polarized culture where what we align with has become a core marker of personal identity rather than just a functional choice. But do we pay attention to what is actually forming us and training our character? Join us for this series as we explore the tug of war over what shapes us.

LIFE GROUPS: We value genuine community here at NHCC. Life Groups are small groups, most of which meet together weekly & in homes, to establish & strengthen God-anchored relationships.. MEN'S RETREAT: TODAY is the deadline to register for this 24hr retreat on October 16th & 17th to slow down, reconnect, and invest in relationships with God and each other. WOMEN'S RETREAT: For Such A Time As This - Plan to join us on Nov. 7th at the Ranch House in North Park for a day-long retreat—a meaningful opportunity to reflect on courage, purpose, and seeing God's hand in your life right now. You are not where you are by accident. Register for $40 on the events page of our website or by scanning the QR code on the screen.

STUDENT RETREAT: Students in 6th - 12th grades join us for the Student Retreat, Dec. 11-13, at Laurelville Retreat Center in Mt. Pleasant, PA as we grow in our relationship with God and each other. Register via the QR code on the screen or by visiting our website.

STUDENT NIGHTS: 9th-12th graders, come hang out Sunday nights from 6:30-8pm as we hear a message and meet in small groups to build community and talk about Jesus. 6th-8th meets Sunday mornings during our worship service.

CORN MAZE: NHCC Students, join us on Sunday, October 25th from 4-8pm as we head to Coolspring Ranch for a little Fall Fun. Meet at the church at 2:45pm to carpool, bring money for dinner and don't forget to invite a friend! Contact Bob with questions.

WOMEN’S STUDY: Join us Wednesdays at 9:30 am, in the church lobby for a women's study. Karen Landis will be leading the group through "How Happiness Happens - Finding Lasting Joy in a world of comparison, disappointment, and unmet expectations", written by Max Lucado.

PILATES CLASSES: Join us Fridays, Oct. 16th, & Nov. 13th at 7pm for Pilates class in the church lobby. Pilates focuses on moving within your body’s limits, not pushing past them. Gentle movement, no pressure, no intimidation. Come as you are! Suggested donation of $10 per class, bring it with you when you come. All donations go to the church.

FOOD DISTRIBUTION: Each week we provide FREE groceries to families in need. This is a vital way that we serve our community, and demand is higher than ever. A list of needed items can be found at the Welcome table. Consider donating items to help us keep meeting this need.

INFERTILITY SUPPORT GROUP: If you have been impacted by the pain and isolation of infertility and pregnancy-related loss & heartbreak, join in community & conversation with others who know how it feels. Dates & times are coordinated by Debbie Harrington with those interested.

DAYS FOR GIRLS: NHCC actively partners with Days for Girls, an organization which seeks to break down stigmas and limitations by providing sustainable and effective feminine hygiene solutions & education to under-privileged girls and women worldwide. We meet Mondays 10am-12:30pm.
