We are living in the hyper-digital age. We are flooded with more information than we can file, more news than we can rationally process, more product advertisements than we can read, and more cyber-engagements than we will ever keep track of. Yet, we are more disconnected and isolated than we’ve ever been. Neighbors don't know neighbors. Friendships are built with suspicion and anxiety, and battle lines are drawn over fleeting opinions and mild infractions. We search for value by comparing our messy, overwhelmed lives to the digitally manicured versions of humanity we seen online. Jesus says there’s a better way, where honesty, sincerity and authenticity are foundational to relationships. We were wired to experience life with others, to know and be known, to love and be loved… we need genuine community, and the need is urgent.
